How Old Are You Now?

Yes folks, this lady is 30 for the nth time today! Haha I plan on enjoying the day, every moment, every minute, every second.  I plan on spending time with my family and have some celebratory meals and maybe celebratory drinks with some friends.  Also, a big hug to my little cousin (who isn't little anymore) who was also born on this great day!! She turns 21, so you know her celebrations are going to continue until next year.  I am thankful everyday to be blessed with a loving husband,  wonderful family, loyal friends, and a cutie patootie doggie.  Today is my day to celebrate!

I Will Cruise Again: Port of Call: Cayman Islands

Ok I have been procrastinating with posting my vacation pictures from months ago.  Sorry about that guys.  I've been meaning to post about my wonderful vacation so here goes at least the first port of call on our cruise last year.  On the third day of our cruise, after a full day of rain out at sea we finally docked at Cayman Islands on a beautiful sunny day. The boat was docked "tandem" away from the island.

We had to get on a smaller boat like the one below in order to get on land

Fresh young coconut sold on the side of the street by the port.

The best place to go was Seven Mile Beach.  Miles and miles of this beautiful scenery.  The only decision we had to make was which beach resort to go: the one with the best rum punch; more rum than the punch.

After a long day at the beach, we asked the taxi driver where we could get good local food that's close to the port.  She directed us to the Copper Kettle where we had some great food.  I ordered the Jerk Combo Platter that included ribs, chicken, rice and beans, plantain and yucca.  I also had the chance to taste turtle soup.  Beat that Anthony Bourdain...ok, it's not quite No Reservations but hey it's close enough! Needless to say we left the Copper Kettle with our bellies full!

Looking at these pictures makes me miss the warm and sunny weather since we are in the middle of winter.  I did some traveling last year and I hope that this year I will be able to get to go away again.  Do you have any adventures planned this year?

XOXO
Christine

Martha, Martha, Martha!

It was a cold and chilly Monday morning.  Usually I would be off to work like usual, but not this particular Monday.  I had a great opportunity to attend The Martha Show!  I had no idea what the show was about, but really I didn't care because...hello...it was The Martha Show!  Even though I've seen it before, I was still excited because I was sure that it will be a different experience than the last.

L: It was a great drive into New York City.  Plus, I made it in record time for a weekday!
R: Passed by the studio.

Just got to the studio in time.  There was already a line to go inside that went almost down the end of the block.
Inside, getting our tickets.

The ticket...we were wondering what the pink highlight meant.

The studio is just as how it was before.  We were pretty much in front of the kitchen part.  That's what the pink highlight meant on the ticket.

We found out that the show will be all about sandwiches.  These ladies were prepping a 6foot sub, with a different type of sandwich for each foot.  Everyone in the studio was hoping the audience would be able to taste a piece.

Another picture of the kitchen.

One day I'd like to have a color coordinated kitchen.

My cousin (L) and I (R) sitting in the front row!!

Once the show started we had to put our cameras away.  There were six segments, and five of them were about making sandwiches with guests from local New York restaurants.  An audience member even made a sandwich with Martha! Lucky girl!  With that said, the craft room in her studio wasn't used at all for the show...bummer.  I really wanted to see something crafty.  Anyway, here's a few pictures of Martha, who was pretty much three feet away from where we were sitting.

Just in case you were curious, the episode is called "Sensational Sandwiches" will air on Friday, January 13 on the Hallmark Channel at 10:00 AM, 2:00 PM EST.  If you see me...let me know!

Say It Ain't So Martha?!

Yup, you guessed it! I am a Martha Stewart fan.  I love her crafty endeavours in her shows, books, and magazines.  Everything that Martha does is just simple, stylish, and chic.  As she would say, "it's a good thing".  I recently found out that I have the pleasure of attending a taping of her show next week at the Martha Chelsea NY studio....again for the second time. Most likely the last, since I recently discovered that her show will no longer be taping after the end of the season.  Anyway, I've dug up some old photos taken from my last visit to The Martha Show from 2008.  Hopefully I'll have better pictures next week!  There's some talks of a "Save Martha" scarf.  We shall see.

Waiting in line before the taping.

Who doesn't like freebies?

Have a wonderful day!

Valentine Owl Chickies

I've been on a little hiatus from my etsy shop recently due to the holidays. That doesn't mean that I wasn't busy tinkering. Well folks due to the high demand of the owl ornaments, I've started making Valentine themed owls. These lovelies will be posted very soon in my shop. I hope that you like them!

XOXO
Christine
