This past Thanksgiving I tested out a new dessert recipe that I found online by Sandra Lee who has the Semi-Homemade show on the Food Network. That is definitely my kind of cooking when I'm pressed for time. When the holidays rolls around I usually end up making my tried and true recipes which is most often made with chocolate...because I just like chocolate! This time, I wanted to make something different but easy. The tres leches recipe is definitely a dessert that doesn't take a lot of time, but it does require some refrigeration preferably a few hours or overnight. If you want to try something new and different and want to wow your guests, definitely try this recipe!
|Tres leches = 3 milks|
|TIP: Poke lots and lots and lots of holes!!|
|TIP: Pour the three milks mixture slowly and evenly.|
|Refrigerate overnight to make sure the cake soaks up all of the milk.|
|Toasted coconut can be omitted, but it added great texture and flavor.|
