Last Night A DJ Saved My Life

This is show and tell time, folks.  I wanted to share a mix that my husband made himself through Mixcloud (great App and you can get it through Facebook).   I thought it was fitting to put up this mix since it's the end of the summer and the beginning of the fall season.  Time to say goodbye to hot, sweltering heat and energy draining humid days.  Time to say hello to cool crisp air and beautiful foliage.  In the meantime, let's boogie on down toward back to school season as we say tah-tah to another summer.

By the way, I'm so lucky to have such a talented hubby.  The couple who is creative together sticks together.  Awww.

Trinity

A few weeks ago I was in Boston for a conference.  Besides the conference part, it was nice to spend some time in my favorite city.  My hotel happened to be close to Copley Square.  I saw the Trinity Church almost a few times each day and each time I had a great appreciation to the structure. Trinity Church stands alone amidst other modern towering buildings reminding everyone how old the city dates back in history.  Just amazing and lovely.  Definitely one of my favorite spots in Boston.  Have you ever been to Boston?  Do you live in Boston?  What is your favorite place to go?

Week In Pictures 20.0

1  Dressed up in my black and white striped dress along with a beaded necklace from Singapore.

2  Thrifted new gauzy yarn that was still in it's original package.  Can't beat 2 bucks!

3  A very snugly Happy when I was sick.

4  My new favorite salad:  granny smith and sharp cheddar with cranberries and balsamic dressing.

5  Bronx Zoo on a hot day - even the polar bear looked HOT!

6  Aquarium made of Legos at the Bronx Zoo.

7  Tried a new hard cider drink.  It was very refreshing.

8  Friday drinks with co-workers started off the weekend right.

9  Reminds me of the song "Mister Blue Sky" by ELO.

South Shore Sunset

Nothing like visiting my friends' house in Massachusetts in the South Shore area.
They took me to Wollaston Beach which is about fifteen minutes away (without traffic) from Boston.  Lots of kiddie overload, fresh scallop dinner from Tony's Clamshop, sunset by the beach overlooking the city of Boston, and a lime rickey - ever had that?  It was just the perfect afternoon.

Cupcakery

Seriously who doesn't like cupcakes?  The small deliscous goodness packaged conveniently, dressed up in colorful nom-ness.  You're probably like..what the heck is this lady talking about?  Ok I love cupcakes especially pretty yummy ones.  I became a fan of the TLC show featuring the two sisters who started Georgetown Cupcake in where else...Georgetown (Washington, DC) and was excited to have found one of their cupcake shops.  I must say that I have become quite a connoisseur of red velvet cupcakes which is what I tried at Georgetown Cupcake while I was in Boston.  Located on the fashionable Newbery Street, the little shop definitely fit in with it's bright lights and delish cupcakes dressed up in sprinkles (jimmies?), colorful fondant, and sugary frosting.  There's something for everyone.  What's your favorite cupcake flavor?
The cute cupcakery from outside.
Lovely cupcakes on display on display..each and everyday everyday....

Week In Pictures 19.0 NYC

Snapshots of a memorable weekend in NYC with college friends for this week's WIP.  It's been three years since we all were together.  We traveled from three different states, and even though it was only a little more than twenty four hours - we still managed to take in as much as we can of New York and make more memories where we can say "remember when..?".  Note to self: wear better shoes next time - ouch.
Grand Central Station

Rockefeller Center

Brunch at Lexington Brass started with mimosas and bellinis which went along well with a burger and a side of truffle oil fries / Dinner at Sushi Samba Seven was amazing with out of this world tapas style dinner, a pitcher of caipirinha, sushi, and great music / Yummy omelet and rich dark coffee at The National.

The Chrysler Building was always close by / Passed by the Philippine Consulate - represent / Did some window shopping and scoped out the sales at Zara and Joe Fresh / Just our luck - a street fair!

Giving Handmade

So my friend is going to have her baby very soon.  I finally put together a little package before their bundle of joy comes.  I went to her whale themed baby shower a month ago and I figured I wanted to go along with this theme, being that it's also the nursery theme.  I sewed up some whale softies: a dark blue and polka dotted one (which were on her baby shower invites too) and ordered other handmade goodies from Etsy.  Do you like giving handmade gifts to friends and family??
Polka dotty whale handmade by me.
Dark blue whale...this one was a little trickier to sew compared to the other (for whatever reason).
Whales that color coordinate together, stick together.  Aww.
Mommy to be took a picture of the whales in the room.  So adorable!
Whale necklace made by Laonato. How perfect for the mom-to-be!

Night Out With My Studded Clutch

All of us have had at least one of those weeks.  The kind of week that you want to just slam your head to a wall.   Yea, that kind of week.  Sometimes a night out with my husband or with a few friends can alleviate the stress that could be hanging on my shoulders, make the nagging headache suddenly go away, and the eye twitching stops.  I can keep going.  This outfit was inspired by my fancy brass fastener clutch.  Channeling my inner party animal...kind of.  I do foresee some fruity libations in the near future.
